Bowie State University Bulldogs
Tournament as the top seed overall and receive a first round bye.  BSU's first tournament action will take place - Wednesday, February 25th at 3 p.m. against the winner of the Livingstone College (8th Seed) and Elizabeth City State University (9th Seed) game.

Bowie State's Bulldogs take to the Time Warner Cable Arena court - Thursday, February 26th against the Falcons of Saint Augustine's College (4th Seed) at 1 p.m.

(RALEIGH, N.C.)  Bowie State's Michelle Latimer and Darrell Toney were selected CIAA Men's Cross Country Coach of the Year and CIAA Softball Coach of the Year respectively.  Bowie State University was awarded the Loretta Taylor Trophy which is indicative of excellence in women's championships.

(HAMPTON, Va.) Twenty student-athletes representing ten of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s (CIAA) eleven member schools have been named to the 13th Annual CIAA Commissioner’s All-Academic Team.  Of the 20 student-athletes honored, Bowie State's Kyara Lombre (Mitchellville, MD, C.H. Flowers) and Maya Newman (Baltimore, MD, St. Frances Academy, Towson) are honorees.

(BOWIE, Md.) The Bowie State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics concluded its 2009-2010 athletic year this evening with its 10th Annual Awards Banquet at Florian Hall.  Highlights of the evening included the presentation of 68 student-athletes with a 3.0 or better grade point average for the 2009 Fall Semester, the 2009-2010 Female and Male Student-Athletes of the Year (Maya Newman (Baltimore, MD, St. Frances Academy) and Jamin Gallman (Baltimore, MD, Baltimore Polytechnic)) and Female and Male Athletes of the Year (Shalai Tabor (Waldorf, MD, Delaware State Univ.) and Duke Crews (Hampton, VA, Bethel, Univ. of Tennessee)).

(HAMPTON, VA) Twenty student-athletes from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association have been named to the 12th annual CIAA Commissioner’s All-Academic Team.  Of those twenty, four Bowie State University student-athletes (Kelley Alexander (Damascus, Md., Covenant Life, Montgomery College), Tiffany Toney (Abilene, TX, Abilene Cooper, The University of Oklahoma )Itumeleng Shadreck (Bostwana Africa, East Chapel Hill, North Carolina Central) and Daryl Sanders (Upper Marlboro, MD, DeMatha) were honorees.

(DURHAM, N.C.)  Bowie State University received five awards at the CIAA end of the year Spring Meeting.  BSU was awarded the  Loretta Taylor All Sports Team Trophy, Tiffany Toney (Abilene, TX, Abilene Cooper, The University of Oklahoma ) was selected as the Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, former Athletic Director Derek Carter was selected as the Jeanette A. Lee Administrator of the Year, Michelle Latimer was chosen as the Women's Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year and Gregory Goings was tabbed as the Sports Information Director of the Year.
