(CHARLOTTE, N.C.) Second-seeded Bowie State University will face either Elizabeth City State University of Fayetteville State University on Thursday at 1 p.m. in the men’s quarterfinals of the 2010 CIAA Basketball Tournament at Time Warner Cable Arena.

The Bulldogs finished the regular season as CIAA Eastern Division Co-Champions with a record of 16-9 overall and 14-6 in the conference, earning a first-round bye.

Sophomore Travis Hyman (Annapolis, MD, Old Mill, Prince George's C.C.) and junior Eric Vann (Clinton, MD, Gwynn Park, Prince George's C.C.) scored 18 points each to lead Bowie State to a convincing 76-54 victory over the Tigers of Saint Paul's College. The win improves the Bowie State record to 15-9 overall, 13-6 in the CIAA and 4-2 in the East.
