MALE APPRECIATION AWARD RECIPIENTS

•  Brandon McDonald
    Major: Public Relations

McDonald received the “Service Award” for his compelling efforts for Bowie State University. The Service Award is awarded for serving your university or an organization without asking for anything in return. While working with the BSU University Relations and Marketing, Brandon helped with many projects that make Bowie State the University it is today. He is also on the verge of graduation and recently completed four years of representing the university as a member of the Bowie State football team.

•  Terence Peete, Jr.
    Major: Pedology

Peete received the “Athlete of the Year” Award because of his leadership, work effort, and desire to succeed on and off the field. Terrence is one of the most popular student-athletes at Bowie State University and this award suits him well. During Peete’s matriculation at Bowie State, the junior defensive for the Bulldogs football team, has grown for the better. Peete added 2009 All-CIAA First team to his football accolades list.

•  Yusuf Dorman-El
   Major: Social Work

Dorman-El received the “Man of the Year” Award for his efforts in the class room, and on the football field. This award and its name hold such prestige because to be the Man of the Year, you must have some good overall qualities. Yusuf has created and hosted many on campus programs for all positive endeavors. Dorman-El completed four years (2005-2009) of eligibility as a member of the Bowie State football program. He was selected as a member of the 2009 All-CIAA First Team, represented Bowie State in a Senior Bowl in Alabama and is on track to graduate. Dorman-El has also drawn the attention of several NFL teams and hopes to continue his football career on the next level.
