(INDIANAPOLIS, IN)  The NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Committee announced its 2010 Tournament field of 64 this evening, but it did not include Bowie State University's Lady Bulldogs.

Bowie State was ranked 8th in the final regular season Atlantic Region poll, but missed the cut due to an upset in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament.  Fairmont State University upset West Liberty University 85-78 in overtime in the WVIAC Championship game.  The win gives Fairmont State and automatic bid into the Division II big dance.  West Liberty was ranked 4th in the Atlantic Region Poll.

"It was disappointing not to get the bid for the 2010 NCAA Women’s Basketball Regional Tournament, but overall we had a successful season, said head coach Donna Polk.  "I was pleased with our Atlantic Region ranking all season and to end the season ranked eighth was a good thing for the program. I wish our fellow CIAA schools success as they represent our conference in the tournament."

The BSU Lady Bulldogs officially wrap up the season as the conference (CIAA) runner-up with a record of 18-8.
