BOX SCORE

(LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA.)  The struggles continue for Bowie State University as the Lady Bulldogs suffered a three set sweep to Lincoln University of Pennsylvania in the final regular season contest for BSU.  Lincoln defeated Bowie State by scores of 25-10, 25-20 and 25-17 and improved the Lady Lions record to 9-19.  The loss dipped the Lady Bulldogs' record to 5-24 heading into the conference championships next weekend in Hampton.

Junior JaTyra Heath (Federalsburg, MD, Colonel Richardson) returned the Bowie State lineup to lead the Lady Bulldogs with a match-high 10 kills.  Senior Breaun Garner (Beltsville, MD, Northwestern) tallied five kills and tied for team-high dig honors with four.  Senior Itumeleng Shadreck (Botswana Africa, East Chapel Hill) and freshman Jasmine Nixon (Middletown, NY, Middletown) recorded two kills each in the setback and sophomore Joshlyn Eggleston (Joppa, MD, Joppatowne) contributed one kill.

Noel Webster had six kills to lead the Lions, an output nearly matched by five by Charity Hart and four by Kenyatta Austin. Webster and Austin, the team's lone seniors, were honored prior to the match as part of Senior Day as this marked the final home appearance for the Lady Lions in 2009.

Austin, Erika Bell and Nekia Morris each had two aces to lead Lincoln. Lincoln (Pa.) had 10 to just two by visiting Bowie State.
