LADY BULLDOGS TENNIS TOPS LINCOLN (PA) 6-3

(PETERSBURG, Va.)  Bowie State Lady Bulldogs tennis captured a 6-3 decision over Lincoln University of Pennsylvania to open day one of the second CIAA Round-Up hosted by Virginia State University.

BSU's Iyabode Sodipo won No. 1 Singles 7-5, 2-6 and 12-10 over Leslie Reid-Bey.  Lincoln took No. 2 and No. 3 Singles by scores of 3-6, 7-5, 10-1 and 1-6, 6-4 and 10-5 respectively.  Uniquewa Rogers beat Bowie State's Samantha Williams and No. 2 and BSU's Kassandra Bishop lost to Destiny Sample at No. 3.

Amanda Hamilton breezed to an easy 6-0, 6-2 victory over Shari Davis at No. 4 Singles.  Bowie State's Channae Manning had little trouble in her No. 5 Singles play with Sherlina Holland of the Lady Lions, winning by scores 6-1, 6-2.  Rebekah Cabaltica cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win over Sharmaine Henderson at No. 6 Singles.

Lincoln's Reid-Bey and Rogers defeated Bowie State's Sodipo and Bishop 8-2 in No. 1 Doubles action.  The Lady Bulldogs closed out the morning winning No. 2 and No. 3 Doubles.  Williams and Hamilton defeated Sample and Davis 8-5 and the BSU duo of Manning and Cabaltica beat Holland and Henderson 8-2.
