BOWIE, MD—The Bowie State men's basketball team welcomes Virginia State University in a Central Intercollegiate Athletics Association (CIAA) matchup on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 7:00 p.m. inside A.C. Jordan Arena in Bowie, Md. This will be the nightcap game of a doubleheader featuring the women's game beginning at 5:30 p.m.

• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
• Small clutch bags measuring 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle or strap
• All other bags will not be permitted. A list of prohibited bags includes but is not limited to purses, backpacks, drawstring bags that are not clear, briefcases, coolers, fanny packs, luggage, computer bags, camera bags, binocular cases, and diaper bags. Guests are encouraged to return unauthorized items to their vehicles. Bowie State University cannot safeguard items that are not permitted into the stadium.

Scouting Bowie State
Bowie State (15-11, 7-7 CIAA, 5-3 North) is a scrappy team whose resilient nature has willed them to win 11 games with a margin of five or fewer points. The Bulldogs are ranked second in the CIAA in blocks per game (4.81) while being ranked fourth in steals per game (9.19). BSU also shares the ball well, as they are ranked fourth in the conference in assists per game (14.27). Bowie State's leading scorer and rebounder is
Amare Wimbush, who averages 12.7 ppg and 6.3 rebounds.
Elijah Davis' 5.2 assists per game is ranked third in the CIAA. Davis also is ranked second in the conference in steals per game (2.1).
Last Time Out for the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs dropped their last matchup on the road against Bluefield State, 101-90 inside of Ned Shott Gymnasium in Bluefield, WV. Wimbush set a new career high in points, scoring 30 points while grabbing eight rebounds and two steals. Mouganda also tallied his fifth 20-point performance, scoring 25 points with seven rebounds and three assists. BSU found success at the rim, scoring 48 points in the paint. Bowie State also excelled in transition scoring 30 fastbreak points.
Scouting Virginia State
Virginia State (10-7, 11-3 CIAA, 5-3 North) is one of the many high-powered offenses in the CIAA, ranking third in scoring, averaging 77.4 ppg, and shooting 46.4 percent from the field. The Trojans crash the glass well, having the third-best mark in the CIAA by grabbing 37.1 rebounds per game. Jacob Cooper leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.6 ppg and 3.4 rebounds. Cooper's 6.4 assists per game leads the CIAA. Clint Wright Jr. is second on the team in scoring, averaging 12 ppg, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.
Last Time Out for the Trojans
The Trojans are coming off a dominant win against Elizabeth City State, 80-70 inside of VSU Multipurpose Center last Saturday. Cooper led the team in scoring with 24 points off the bench. Cooper shot 17-20 from the free-throw line, which is the most by a single player for the Trojans this season. Two other Virginia State players scored in double figures as Jared White had 15 points and Wright Jr. tallied 11 points. VSU received a boost from their bench, with 38 points coming from the second unit in the victory.

Bowie State will end regular season play at home for Senior Day against CIAA opponent Lincoln University (PA) on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 4:00 p.m. inside A.C. Jordan Arena in Bowie, Md.
