FINAL STATS
(BOWIE, MD) Virginia State University came into Bowie State University's A.C. Jordan Arena and walked out with a three game sweep over the Lady Bulldogs by scores of 25-30, 29-31 and 30-26. The VSU victory pulls the Lady Trojans even in the CIAA Eastern Division with BSU's Lady Bulldogs with a record of 5-3.
Bowie State appeared out of sync much of the evening while Virginia State played with a lot of hustle. Virginia State's Jade Austin and Renseisha Hill led the Lady Trojans with 17 and 7 kills respectively and Nicole Robinson along with Crystal Hickman added another six kills apiece. Virginia State served up a game-high 15 aces with Kendra Hanks leading the way with six.
Freshman Bethany Sloat and junior Tiffany Toney led BSU's Lady Bulldogs with 13 and 11 kills respectively. Sloat accumulated a game-high 14 digs and junior Tamira Conner Rogers laid out for another 11 digs.
Bowie State (10-13 overall and 8-5 in the CIAA) will travel to Lincoln (PA) University - Tuesday, October 30th before closing out the regular season on Thursday (11/1) at home against the University of the District of Columbia at 6 p.m. Virginia State closes out the regular season with an overall record of 9-12 and 8-8 in the CIAA.
