Department of Athletics Mission Statement
The Bowie State University Department of Athletics will provide an athletics program founded on excellence, integrity and honesty. We will develop successful teams that support the intellectual, athletic and personal endeavors of our student-athletes. Additionally, the department will operate the athletic program and manage resources in a manner having the most beneficial impact on student-athletes, coaches, staff and the University Community, within the parameters set by the operating principles of the NCAA and CIAA.
We are a department committed to:
Develop student-athletics academically, athletically, and socially, with the intent of aiding the efforts of each to graduate with a quality college education, advance toward a rewarding career and contribute to society.
Modeling the principles of teamwork, sportsmanship, ethical conduct and leadership, and instilling these principles within each student-athlete.
Supporting equitable opportunities for all student-athletes, coaches, administrators.
