The host Lady Bulldogs of Bowie State began game one sending Fayetteville State down in order.  Tiffany Toney got BSU's first hit of the afternoon in the bottom of the first, stroking a double to left.  Toney stole third and Heather Enders followed that with a single to left as well, scoring Toney.  Virginia Hockey slapped a hard shot to shortstop, advancing Enders to third.  A Bethany Sloat single scored Enders from third but Hockey was thrown out at the plate, but Bowie State still led 2-0.

Toney belted a solo homerun in the 5th inning to push the Bowie State lead to 3-0 and the Lady Bulldogs added their final run in the 6th inning when Sloat scored after smacking a double to center field to lead off the inning.

DeOndra Peterson and Shatia Gidrey led Fayetteville in game one hits with two each.   Bowie State was paced by Toney, Enders, Sloat and Tricia Corbin  with two hits apiece.

Winning pitcher Jillian Willey (4-3) struck out 11 in the first game and gave up seven hits.  Fayetteville State pitcher Alicia Frank allowed nine Bowie State hits, struck out three and walked one.

It seemed more like batting practice in the finale as Bowie State roughed up Franks for 13 hits.  Bowie State had four hits in the 1st inning of game two, which resulted into an early 4-0 advantage.  BSU's Lady Bulldogs added a pair of runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings to extend their lead to 8-0.

Fayettevile State's Doniecia Ebron opened the Lady Broncos half of the 4th inning with a double to right center.  Rahkee Smith doubled in the inning as well, scoring Ebron.  Aja Sawyer singled down the left field line, scoring Smith.  The home team tacked on another six runs in the bottom of the 4th inning , banging out another five hits.  #Erin Gray led off the inning with a solo blast (4th of the season) over the left field fence which opened up the flood gates for Bowie State.

Fayetteville State added its final run in the top of inning five when Shatia Gidrey scored on a wild pitch.  However, the damage was already done as Enders fanned Peterson to close out the nightcap.

Bowie State will take a few days off from competition before returning to action - Wednesday, April 2nd versus the Lady Pioneers of Columbia Union College at 3 p.m. on the BSU campus.
