LADY BULLDOGS SOFTBALL RECORDS TWO SHUTOUTS AGAINST LINCOLN (PA)

(BOWIE, MD) Lincoln (PA) University was no match against Bowie State University as the Lady Bulldogs rocked the Lady Lions 11-0 and 12-0. The win improves Bowie State's record to 12-6 while Lincoln (PA) dips to 0-16 overall.

Bowie State scored 10 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning of game one, added one more run in the 4th inning and held Lincoln (PA) to one hit (Tania Cook) for the entire game. BSU's Lady Bulldogs recorded eights hits in the opener, which included four doubles and a home run. Junior Heather Enders accounted for two of those doubles, hit a home run and was responsible for four a team-high RBI. Sophomore Breaun Garner knocked in three RBI and junior Jillian Willey picked up her sixth win of the season, striking out seven Lincoln Lady Lions.

Cook recorded Lincoln's only two hits of the second game, a double in the 1st inning and a single to left in the 4th inning. Unfortunately for Cook, the games losing pitcher (0-2), she gave up 12 Bowie State hits in game two. Senior Erin Gray along with junior's Tiffany Toney and Virginia Hockey led the attack with two hits each. Gray's two hits were solo home runs, giving her six for the season and one of Toney's hits was her eighth two-bagger of the year.

Bowie State will hit the road for its next contest, traveling to St. Paul's College – Saturday, April 5th for a 2 p.m. CIAA Eastern Division doubleheader, the first divisional match-up of the season for BSU's Lady Bulldogs.
