Teaunsha Robinson (Baltimore, MD, Baltimore Polytechnic) scored a game-high 16 points to lead Bowie State to a 50-44 division win over the Virginia Union University Lady Panthers. The Lady Bulldogs improve to 11-9 overall, 10-3 CIAA and 4-1 in the East.
Bowie State held a four point halftime advantage (22-18) on seven-of-22 field goal shooting. Virginia Union had the identical number of made first half field goals, attempting 28. Free throws assisted in Bowie State halftime lead with the Lady Bulldogs making seven-of-10 from the charity stripe.
Virginia Union began the second half with an 8-2 run until Danita Hill stopped the run with a break away lay-up. Bowie State sophomore
Lakisha Walker (Baltimore, MD, St. Frances Academy)scored a lay-up at the 10:12 mark, tying the game at 36 and popped a jumper from the corner, switching the lead back to Bowie State for good. Walker wrapped up the game with seven rebounds.
Micayala Ricks led Virginia Union (6-13, 3-10 CIAA, 1-4 East) with 11 points and Tonaye Smith along with Samantha Traynham added 11 and nine points respectively.

Denisha Kenion (Ft. Washington, MD, Oxon Hill, University of Virginia) added seven points.
Bowie State will continue its three-game road trip with a Thursday, February 7th date at Saint Augustine's followed by a Saturday, February 9th contest at Shaw University.
