Stephanie Harper collected a double-double, tallying game-highs of 20 points and 18 rebounds for Elizabeth City State (12-11, 6-7 CIAA, 3-4 North). She was the only Lady Vikings to register double figures on the evening.

Harper outscored the Lady Bulldogs by herself 8-1 in the final two minutes of regulation. Her layup with 11 seconds left tied the game at 46 apiece to force the extra session.

In the overtime the Lady Bulldogs struck first with a layup by junior Cortney Baynard at the 4:29 mark. ECSU answered back with another score by Harper to tie the game again at 48. The Lady Vikings came up empty on their next two possessions and BSU retook the lead on jumper by junior Jasmine Jacobs with 1:54 to go.

Jacobs added two free throws to give Bowie State a 52-48 cushion with 24 seconds left until Jasmine Whitehurst hit a jumper with 9 ticks on the clock to pull ECSU within a basket.

With the clock working against them the Lady Vikings were forced to foul Jacobs who again sank both free throws to all but seal the victory. Wykeemia Gray scored a layup as time expired for the final point spread.

Kimberly Jones led Bowie State with 16 points to go along with eight rebounds and sophomore Brooke Miles chipped in a dozen points.  Senior Juliette Turner just missed a double-double (10 points and a team-high nine rebounds) and Jacobs rounded out BSU's double figure scorers with 10 points.

Bowie State will have little time to rest before returning to the court – Saturday (February 11th), hosting the Lincoln University of Pennsylvania Lady Lions at 1 pm.
