#4 Bowie State Cages St. Augustine’s Falcons 86-66 to Remain Unbeaten in CIAA Play

Box Score RALEIGH, N.C. – – The fourth ranked Bowie State men's basketball team had no trouble at St. Augustine's on Thursday night, caging the Falcons 86-66. The win, Bowie State's sixth straight, moves the Bulldogs overall record to 12-4 and 4-0 in the CIAA.

Leading the attack for the Bulldogs was senior Cameron Knox (Baltimore, Md.) with a game-high 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field. Juniors Andre Jackson (Baltimore, Md.) and Julian Livingston (Bowie, Md.) chipped in 11 and 10 points respectively while sophomore Enuoma Ebinum (Greenbelt, Md.) and senior Zafir Williams (Philadelphia, Pa.) added eight points apiece. Ebinum and Livingston came off the bench to lead Bowie State on the glass with five rebounds apiece.

Anthony Gaskins was the top scorer for St. Augustine's (6-7, 0-3 CIAA) recording 20 points followed by Raheem Jolliffe and Quincy January with 10 points each. Jolliffe grabbed a game-high seven rebounds while John Koger along with Julius Murphy accountable for five rebounds apiece.

The Bulldogs took a 43-29 lead into halftime holding the Falcons to four points over the final four minutes. Bowie State shot well in the first period of play 15-of-29 (51.7 percent) while St. Augustine's ended the first half shooting 43.3 percent (13-of-30).

Bowie State's defense put the clamps on St. Augustine's to start the second half, going on a 21-13 run to extend the Bulldogs lead to 64-42 midway through the final stanza. The Bulldogs lead ballooned to a game-high 27 (70-43) following a Livingston layup with 7:54 remaining in the game.

As a team, Bowie State closed out the contest shooting 51.9 percent from the field (27-of-52), which included 12-of-28 (42.9 percent) behind the arc.

St. Augustine's didn't have a bad night shooting the rock, making 26-of-58 overall field goals (44.8 percent), that included 8-of-18 behind the 3-point line, but made just 6-of-16 free throws.

The Bulldogs will take their unbeaten conference and road record into a Saturday afternoon meeting against the Bears of Shaw University. Shaw won at home on Thursday night, defeating Virginia Union 78-60.
