Box Score 3 CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in conjunction with the CIAA Women's Basketball Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors Association announced the CIAA Player, Newcomer, Rookie and Coach of the Week honorees on Tuesday. Of the four honoree, Bowie State University claimed three of the four weekly honors. Sophomore
Kiara Colston (Burtonsville, Md.) was voted Player of the Week, junior
Ashley Jennings (Newark, N.J.) was named Newcomer of the Week and
Shadae Swan was selected Coach of the Week.
Colston was a true leader for the Lady Bulldogs last week, leading the team with a 22.0 ppg. average in wins over Felician (22 points), Coppin State (17 points) and Alderson-Broaddus (22 points). She shot 26-of-46 from the field (56.5 percent), drained 9-of-14 triples (64.3 percent), grabbed 13 rebounds, had eight assists, three blocks and six steals. In three wins last week,
Ashley Jennings averaged a double-double of 15.7 ppg. and 14.0 rpg. Jennings made 54.5 percent of her shot on 18-of-33 shooting from the field. Coach Swan and the Lady Bulldogs improved its season mark to 5-2 overall after picking up wins against Felician College (72-61), Coppin State (64-63) and Alderson-Broaddus (81-66).
Bowie State is on a four-game winning streak and have compiled an overall record of 5-2.
