Box Score 2 HAMPTON, Va.- The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in conjunction with the CIAA Basketball Coaches Association and Sports Information Directors Association selected junior
Ty-Nita Baker (Houston, Miss.) and men's head coach Darrell Brook Newcomer and Coach of the Week on Tuesday morning. This marks the fourth season accolade for Baker and Brooks this season.
Baker erupted for a career-high 39 points on 12-of-20 shooting from the field, that included 5-of-8 behind the 3-point line and made all 10 of her free throws in BSU's 74-65 loss at Lincoln. Baker also recorded a game-high five steals and added three rebounds. The 39 points were the second most since Allison Hardy's 50 in the opening round of the 2004 CIAA Tournament.
Brooks and the Bulldogs picked up another important divisional win on Saturday (2/7) afternoon, defeating Lincoln 66-61 to sweep the season series against the Lions and remain in the hunt for the Northern Division title.
The Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs take on Virginia Union University on Wednesday (2/11) at 5:30 and 7:30 pm in VUU's Barco-Stevens Hall.
