BOWIE, Md. - In the 37th meeting between the Bowie State University Bulldogs and Winston-Salem State Rams, the Bulldogs defeated the Rams 110-105 in a double-overtime thriller. The win sets the Bulldog record at 5-6 overall while Winston-Salem State falls to 5-5.

Saiquan Jamison led three Bowie State players in double-figure scoring, accounting for a career-high 35 points to go along with 16 rebounds while redshirt junior
David Belle chipped in 22 points and six rebounds. Juniors
Yohance Fleming and Keith Duffin Jr. combined for 32 points and 17 rebounds.
The Rams jumped out to a 17-11 lead in the first five minutes of a matchup and appeared to have the Bulldogs on their heels. With 3:44 left in the first half, Bowie State went on a 13-0 run to earn its first lead of the night 41-39 which the Bulldogs increased to 46-42 thanks to free throws from junior
Cameron Hayes. The Bulldogs held on to the lead the rest of regulation until Winston-Salem State's Robert Colon tied the game with two free throws 59 seconds in the second half.
With 2:05 left in regulation, Julius Barnes connected on two free throws to put Winston-Salem State up 91-90 but BSU's Jamison responded with a tip on the other end, giving the lead back to Bowie State.
WSSU's Robert Colon made a jumper with 1:26 on the clock, then BSU's Belle responded with a bucket for the Bulldogs. A second overtime was warranted after Winston-Salem State failed to score the game-winning basket, following a made free throw from Belle.
In overtime, the Bulldogs regained the lead 85-84. After that, the teams went back and forth exchanging baskets. Colon knocked down two free throws, but Bowie State's Belle responded with a jump shot at the 3:19 mark. After that, Jamison cashed in two free throws to strengthen the Bulldogs lead until Barnes returned a jump shot, narrowing the Bulldogs lead to one point. Soon after, the teams continued to trade baskets again and match each other with made free throws.
In the second overtime, things were no different. The Rams and Bulldogs continued to exchange baskets. At the 2:05 mark, Jamison connected on a basket which was followed by a desperation 3-pointer by Fleming as the shot clock expired, extending the Bulldogs lead 105-103. After that, Bowie State would knock down more free throws to put the game out of reach as the clock expired.
Colon led the Rams with 34 points followed by Barnes with 25 points to go along with 17 points from William Crandell. Jamel McAllister and James Rucker scored double figures as well, tallying 12 and 10 points respectively.
As of team, Bowie State out-rebounded Winston-Salem State 49-41, forced 14 turnovers that resulted in 14 points for Bowie State.
Bowie State wrapped up the evening with field goal percentage of 48 percent (31-of-65) and 75 percent from the charity stripe (47-of-63). On the flip side, Winston-Salem State shot 46 percent from the field (31-of-68) and knocked down (34-of-52) free throws 65 percent.
The Bulldogs will have a very short time to rest before welcoming the Claflin University Panthers to the A.C. Jordan Arena on Monday (12/17) night for the inaugural meeting between the two teams.
