BOWIE, Md. – It was the result Bowie State women's tennis was looking for as the Bulldogs were dealt a 9-0 setback to Virginia Union in the teams' regular season home finale on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman
Kayla Bridgett (Upper Marlboro, Md.) and
Madeleine Ndema (Lanham, Md.) were shutout 8-0 at No. 1 doubles and sophomore Kamara Eason (Oxon Hill, Md.) along with junior
Jocelyn Williams (Washington, D.C.) were defeated by a score of 8-5 at No. 2 doubles. Bowie State freshman tandem of
Bianca Tucker (Edgewood, Md.) and
Oladia Menchaca (Landover, Md.) dropped an 8-1 decision at No. 3 doubles.
Bowie State (3-10, 1-10 CIAA, 0-6 North) fell 8-2 at No. 1 singles (Bridgett), 8-1 at No. 2 singles (Ndema) and 8-4 at No. 3 singles (Eason). The Bulldogs were blanked 8-0 at No. 4 (Williams) and No. 6 singles (Menchaca) and came up short at No. 5 singles (Tucker) by a score of 8-2.
