LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. - Junior David Belle drilled a 3-pointer with 5.9 seconds remaining in the game to lift the Bowie State University Bulldogs past the Lincoln (Pa.) University Lions 79-78 inside the Manuel Rivero Hall on Saturday afternoon.

Bowie State (14-10, 10-3 CIAA, 3-3 North) had their second highest field goal percentage game of the season, knocking down 52.3 percent of its shots (34-of-65), which included 50 percent (9-of-18) beyond the arc. Bowie State was out-rebounded 41-33 but outscored Lincoln (Pa.) 40-30 in the paint.

Despite the Bulldogs shooting well in the first 20 minutes, the Lions were able to carry a 40-36 advantage into the break. After that, Lincoln (Pa.) used a 16-6 burst to give the Lions its largest lead of the game at 40-30 with 2:26 left in the opening half.

The Lions held on to the lead until a Perry layup shifted the advantage over to Bowie State at 45-44 four minutes into the second half. The lead would change hands five times over the next six minutes until a pair of free throws by LUPA's Cameron Campbell created the games' ninth tie at 61-all at the 9:24 mark.

Lincoln (Pa.) held a six-point advantage three times over the next five minutes with the last coming (76-70) with 3:34 to go in the contest.

Fortunately, the Bulldogs still had some fight left in them, outscoring the Lions 9-2 the rest of the contest to capture the win.
