Although the Trojans outscored the Bulldogs in the third quarter 15-12, the team didn't allow VSU to get on any hot streak to cut its lead close. Bowie State made key stops when necessary and closed out the period leading 49-31.

In the fourth quarter with the game out of reach, the Bulldogs kept pushing the tempo and built its biggest lead of the game 55-33 at 8:39 after sophomore Chyna Butler went 1-2 at the free throw line.
