Women’s Basketball Travels to Shepherd for Midweek Tilt

Bowie, Md. – The Bowie State women's basketball team is back in action Wednesday when the Bulldogs travel to Shepherd for a 5:30 p.m. matchup at the Butcher Athletic Center. The game will be broadcast on the PSAC Sports Digital Network.

Last timeout, the Bulldogs (0-1) fell in their opener at Shippensburg, 73-59 Saturday night. BSU had stayed within reach of the Raiders in the first half, only trailing by three at the break but the Bulldogs were outscored 21-10 in the third quarter that proved to be too much for a comeback down the stretch.

Freshman Anii Harris (Ellicott City, MD) paced Bowie State with 16 points while redshirt freshman Katerra Myers (Burtonsville, MD) added nearly a double-double in her debut with 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Rams stand 2-0 on the young season entering Wednesday's game. Shepherd defeated Davis & Elkins, 90-61 and Frostburg State, 72-60 during the PSAC/MEC Challenge last weekend. Through the two games, Abby Beeman averages 26 points per game and seven rebounds while Sydney Clayton averaged 18 points and five board for the Rams.

Records indicate Wednesday's game will be the second time Shepherd and Bowie State meet on the court. The last meeting occurred during the 2011-12 season where the Rams took a 65-54 win over the Bulldogs in Shepherdstown, WV.
