BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State men's basketball will return home for their last 2021 non-conference regular season game to face Shippensburg University on Sunday Dec. 12th at 1 p.m. inside A.C. Jordan Arena. General admission is $10, senior citizen and non-BSU students with a valid ID is $5. Children 12 and under are free.
Media Credentials
All media interested in covering a Bowie State men's and women's basketball contest will need to request credentials two days prior to the event. Credentials will not be granted the day of the game.
COVID-19 Policy
Bowie State Athletics is requiring all fans and spectators to show proof of vaccination and proper identification prior to entering the arena. Additionally, all fans are required to wear face coverings (masks or neck gaiters) at all times unless eating or drinking while in A.C. Jordan Arena.
Last Time Out
Bowie State (1-7) is coming off a 78-81 loss to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) membered Kutztown University on Wednesday night. The Bulldogs and the Bears played evenly matched throughout the contest as the game came down to the final minutes. Junior Quinton Drayton (Bowie, MD) had a game high of 22 points. Sophomore David McCullough (Bowie, MD) put up 19 points, while freshman Kyree Freeman-Davis (Bowie, MD) aided 12 points off the bench. Bowie State averages 73.1 points per game, shooting 44-percent from the field.
Scouting Shippensburg
Shippensburg University also a member of PSAC and is coming off a 72-66 conference win against Gannon University where Kiyon Hardy and Rashon Johnson registered a game-high 16 points each. The Raiders are 3-3 overall and 1-1 in their conference. Shippensburg averages 72.7 points per game and shooting 42-percent from the field.
The Series
The Bulldogs and Raiders are meeting for the third time since 2018 and the record between these two programs is split 1-1. In the last outing, Shippensburg took an 81-68 win over BSU during the 2019-2020 season.
What's Next
Next week, beginning Tuesday, Dec. 14, Bowie State will begin conference play with a three-game home stand with Johnson C. Smith, Livingstone (Dec. 16) and Winston-Salem State (Dec. 20).
