BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State men's basketball team will host Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) foe Lincoln (PA) Saturday, Jan. 15 for a division opener. One of two games scheduled against the Lions of LUPA as the women's game will tip-off at 2 p.m., followed by the men's game at 4 p.m. from A.C. Jordan Arena.

About the Bulldogs
Bowie State dropped a 74-61 decision at Livingstone Thursday night in Salisbury, N.C. The Bulldogs were led by junior Quinton Drayton (Bowie, MD) and sophomore Khalil Williams (Annapolis, MD) who both registered a team-high 12 points apiece while graduate senior Tyler Jones (Pleasantville, NJ) added 10 points and team-high seven rebounds. BSU fell behind by as many as 15 points before cutting the deficit to 12 (36-24) at halftime but in the second half, the Blue Bears pulled away with from BSU down the stretch.
Statistically, Bowie State has averaged 72.6 points per game but their opponents have posted 80.4 points per outing – ranking the Bulldogs fifth and 11th in team offense and defense averages. However, on a brighter note – BSU ranks second in the league for free throw percentage, shooting 73.5 percent from the stripe and third in the league from the 3-point line (34-percent). Three Bulldogs average double digits in scoring led by sophomore David McCullough (Bowie, MD) with 12.8 points – he also leads the team in rebounds (4.7) while Drayton and Jones round out the double figure scorers for BSU at 12.2 and 10.5 points, respectively.
Scouting Lincoln (PA)
Having won their last seven games, the Lions are 5-2 on the road this season. LUPA defeated Saint Augustine's, 69-60 on a 14-2 run in the second half. The win marked the fourth-straight win for LUPA against CIAA opponents – a program best. Zahrion Blue finished with 22 points to lead all scorers in the contest. He currently ranks second in the league with a scoring average of 34.7 points per game while defensively, Alex Nunnally has conference fourth-best average in rebounds (8.0).
Lincoln (PA) ranks second in the CIAA, averaging 75.7 points per game while holding their opponents to 69.4 points. The Lions are third in field goals (45-percent), defense (41-percent), fourth in 3-point field goals (33.5-percent), offensive rebounds (41-percent) and second in the CIAA assists (189).
The Series
Saturday's meeting will be the 19th meeting between the Bulldogs and Lions since 2008. Bowie State leads the series 12-6, having won the 6-of-8 meetings against LUPA. The Lions won the last outing against the Bulldogs, 72-64 in Bowie, Md.
