BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State women's basketball will play host to Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) foe Lincoln (PA) Saturday, Jan. 15 for a division opener. One of two games scheduled against the Lions of LUPA as the women's game will tip-off at 2 p.m., followed by the men's game at 4 p.m. from A.C. Jordan Arena.

About the Bulldogs
The Bowie State Bulldogs had exactly a week off from competition in preparation for Saturday's division opener and key matchup with the Lions of Lincoln (PA). BSU is coming off a 73-51 win at Claflin last weekend, led by a junior Drew Calhoun with a game-high 15 points. She was 5-of-9 from the 3-point line while senior Talanya Hutton (Seat Pleasant, MD) chipped in 13 points and both junior Amani Ball (Laurel, MD) and freshman Katerra Myers (Burtonsville, MD) punched in 11 and 10 points apiece. Defensively, freshman Saniha Jackson (Ellicott City, MD) recorded a career-high 13 rebounds in the winning effort.
Currently, the Bulldogs are fourth division standings at 2-1 in conference play. BSU averages 53 points per game while allowing their opponents post 61 points per outing. Freshman Anii Harris (Ellicott City, MD) leads the team in scoring with 10.1 points while Myers has a team-best average of 5.9 rebounds per game.
Scouting Lincoln (PA)
The Lions enter Saturday's matchup with winning momentum as well after defeating Saint Augustine's, 77-39 on the road Wednesday night. LUPA had five players score in double figures led by Bryanna Brown with 18-points. She currently leads the CIAA in scoring, averaging 16.9 points per game.
As a team, LUPA leads the CIAA in scoring with 73.6 points per game while defensively, they've held their opponents to 62 points per outing. On the glass, the Lions rank first in offensive rebounds (45.9) and second in the turnover margin (4.86).
Within the Atlantic Region, Lincoln (PA) is one of two teams from the CIAA in the rankings as the Lions were voted eighth in this week's latest regional poll.
The Series
Out of the last 18 meetings, Bowie State has won seven against Lincoln (PA). In the fact, the last four meetings have been a split between the rivals but BSU claimed the last meeting with a 60-56 win at home last time out.
