BOWIE, Md. – Coming off a dominating 78-52 home opener victory last night, the Bowie State women's basketball team will look to carry that winning momentum into Friday's competition at California (PA) in a non-conference tilt. The game is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. at the Convocation Center.

The Bulldogs Breakdown:
Bowie State (2-1) enters Friday's game averaging 62.3 points per game while holding its opponents to 54.3 points, respectively. Through the past three games, BSU has shot 31-percent from the field that's highlighted by 60-percent shooting from the free throw line. Defensively, the Bulldogs crash the glass good posting 48.7 rebounds a night.
 
Against the Rams, Bowie State grabbed 55 total rebounds (29 offensively) while scoring 30 points of Shepherds 25 turnovers. Katerra Myers led the Bulldogs with eight points and nine rebounds. Seanice Lyons also added 13 points and Jayla Irvin helped out with six points and two steals off the bench.
 
The Series:
Friday's game will be just the third meeting between the two teams since 2011. The Bulldogs have lost both matchups to the Vulcans, including last year's 64-41 decision in Bowie, Md.
 
Surveying California (PA):
The Vulcans are 1-1 on the young season after falling 80-73 to No. 15 Charleston (WV) on Saturday, Nov. 12 during the MEC/PSAC Challenge. Cal (PA) earned a 70-67 win over West Liberty (Nov. 11), led by Ciaria Loyd who had 28 points, five steals and four assists to lead all scorers. The top scorer for the Vulcans against Charleston (WV) was Dejah Terrell who registered 25 points to lead two other teammates in double digit scoring.
 
Through two games, Cal (PA) averages 71.5 points 37-percent shooting from the field, 32-percent from long distance and 69-percent from the free throw line.
