WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. --The Bowie State men's basketball team got a 32-point showing from the bench, but fell 75-62 to the Winston-Salem State Rams (10-2, 2-1 CIAA) on the road Monday in league action.

The Bulldogs (4-10, 2-1 CIAA) had two players score in double figures, led by Quinton Drayton (Bowie, MD), who had 17 points. Caleb Johnson (Baltimore, MD) added 14 points and two steals off of the bench and Joel Webb added eight points and seven rebounds.

How It Happened

Bowie State got off to a slow start out of the gate, falling behind 37-21 heading into halftime.

BSU narrowed its deficit to 54-41 before going on a 5-0 run, finished off by Johnson's layup, to shrink the deficit to 54-46 with 8:04 to go in the contest. Winston-Salem State responded and outscored the Bulldogs the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 75-62. Bowie State got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for 24 of its 41 total points.
