Bowie State will honor Drew Calhoun (New Carrollton, MD), Jewel Porter (Baltimore, MD), Amani Ball (Laurel, MD), Jazmyne Scott (Brooklyn, MD) and Talanya Hutton (Seat Pleasant, MD) Saturday.
The Bulldogs fell 60-44 to Virginia Union on Thursday. Freshman Anii Harris (Ellicott City, MD) and freshman Katerra Myers (Burtonsville, MD) finished with 16 and 10 points and combined for 12 rebounds. BSU was held to 21.8-percent shooting from the field.
The Lady Bears are coming off a 59-55 overtime win against Virginia State on Thursday. Ashley Rojas led the way with 12 points while Tanayja London grabbed a team-high nine rebounds to go along with nine points.
Saturday's game will mark the second meeting between Bowie State and Shaw this season. The Lady Bears took game one, 62-53 in Raleigh, N.C. led by London with 20 points. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs have won six of the last seven matchups against Shaw.
Within the division standings, Bowie State is currently sitting in fourth place. A win for the Bulldogs would tie with Shaw at 4-4 and a fight for the third spot in the North.
Following Saturday's game, Bowie State will travel to Virginia State on Wednesday, Feb. 16. Tip-off will be at 5:30 p.m. in Ettrick, Va.
