About the Bulldogs
Bowie State suffered a tough 74-51 loss to Shaw on Senior night Saturday Afternoon inside A.C. Jordan Arena. The Bulldogs were led by sophomore David McCullough (Bowie, MD) in scoring with 16-points aided by senior Justin Route (Washington, D.C.) who put up 11 points. BSU did not have a great shooting day, shooting 28-percent from the field compared the Shaw's 51-percent from the field. Looking to end their five-game losing streak Bowie State currently sits at fifth in scoring averaging 69 points per game.
Scouting Virginia State
The Trojans fell 69-63 to Elizabeth City State at home. Three players scored in double figures led by Terrance Hunter-Whitfield who posted 23 points and 10 rebounds. Hunter-Whitfield ranks seventh in the CIAA averaging 14.5 points per game. VSU's leading scorer Francis Fitzgerald currently ranks fourth in the CIAA averaging 17.3 points per game.
The Series
This will be the second meeting between the two programs this season. Last time out, the Bulldogs fell 70-67 on January 27th.
