BOWIE, Md. – The Bowie State men's and women's basketball teams will take on Fayetteville State in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) cross division doubleheader Monday, Feb. 7. The women's game is slated to begin at 2 p.m., followed by the men's game at 4 p.m. inside Capel J. Arena.

Bowie State Hoops
Bowie State basketball visited the Lions of Lincoln (PA) this past Saturday with both the men's and women's teams falling to the Lions. The Bulldogs fell 61-36 to LUPA in the women's action. Bowie State had one player score in double figures in freshman
Anii Harris (Ellicott City, MD) with 14 points.
On the men's side, Bowie State fell 78-68 to the Lions. The Bulldogs stayed within reach of Lincoln (PA) for most of the contest until LUPA used a 10-3 run in the last 2:38 to come away with the win. Junior
Quinton Drayton (Bowie, MD) led all scorers with 26 points and five rebounds while graduate senior
Kobby Ayetey (Accra, Ghana) added 16 points.
Fayetteville State
The Broncos women defeated Johnson C. Smith 76-72 in overtime on Saturday for their fifth straight win and fourth consecutive home victory. Rasheka Simmons registered 21 points and 11 rebounds while Aniylah Bryant and Keayna McLaughlin added 19 and 12 points, respectively.
On the men's side, the FSU men's team fell 62-56 to Johnson C. Smith, snapping a five game win-streak. Jalen Seegars scored a game-high 24 points, followed by Cress Worthy with 17 points and Darryl Myers's double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The Series
The Bulldogs have hold a 12-8 advantage against the Broncos in the last 20 meetings but Fayetteville State has claimed the last two outings, including a 61-53 win against BSU in the CIAA championship game back on Feb. 29, 2020 in Charlotte, N.C.
Since 2008, Bowie State men's hoops has won 14 of the last 17 games against the Broncos. However, Fayetteville State took the last meeting 70-58 over the Bulldogs on Jan. 13, 2020.
