Men’s Basketball to Open Division Play at Lincoln (PA)

BOWIE, Md. – Bowie State men's basketball will begin Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA)  Northern Division play on Saturday, Jan. 14 in a contest at Lincoln (PA). Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. from Manuel Rivero Gymnasium.

The Series
This will be the 21st meeting between the Bulldogs and Lions since 2009. During the last 10 matchups, BSU has owned a 7-3 record but Lincoln (PA) won the last outing by the score of 78-68 back on Feb. 5, 2022 in Lincoln, Pa.
 
Last Time Out
Bowie State trailed by as many as 25 points to the visiting Broncos of Fayetteville State and cut the deficit to 12 but ultimately fell 61-49 on Jan. 9 inside A.C. Jordan Arena. Caleb Johnson (Baltimore, MD) led the Bulldogs (4-14, 2-4 CIAA) with nine points and six rebounds. Warren Mouganda (Bowie, MD) also added nine points from the bench and Quinton Drayton (Bowie, MD) helped out with seven points and six rebounds.
 
Last Time against LUPA
Despite making a run and pulling within three points with less than four minutes to go, the Bulldogs dropped the second of their last three games 78-68 to the Lions. Drayton registered 26 points and five rebounds for a Bulldog team that shot 42-percent from the field (21-50), 7-of-19 (36.8-percent) from the 3-point line and 70.4-percent (19-27) from the charity stripe as a unit.
 
A Look at the Lincoln (PA)
LUPA is 8-9 overall, 3-3 in the CIAA and 5-3 at home this season. The Lions have won its last two outings including an impressive 73-57 win over nationally ranked Claflin on Jan. 9. Three players finished in double figures in scoring led by Reggie Hudson who had 15 points and five rebounds. Ethan Garita chipped in 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds while Korey Williams added 14 points, four rebounds and four steals.
