ETTRICK, Va. - The Bowie State women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision on Saturday, Mar. 11 at Virginia State. The loss was the Bulldogs first of the 2023 season while the Trojans start the season 1-0.
HOW IT HAPPENED
During doubles competition, the Bulldogs earned a win at the doubles No.1 slot, 6-2 but the Trojans took the early 1-0 lead heading into singles competition.
Saturday's match was also the second conference tilt for the Bulldogs (1-1). The Bulldogs were led by Afuica Gentle and
Abner Dickson who both registered victories individually at the No. 1 and 2 positions. Gentle swept her opponent 6-0, 6-0 while Dickson claimed a three-set victory by the scores of 1-6, 6-4, 10-8.Â
