BOWIE, MD -- The Bowie State men's basketball team heads to Richmond on Wednesday night for a 7:30 p.m. matchup with the Panthers of Virginia Union inside Barco-Stevens Hall as the nightcap game of a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Northern Division doubleheader between Bowie State and Virginia Union.
The contest will be streamed on the CIAA Sports Network.

The Bulldogs are coming off a77-59 loss to Lincoln (PA) on Saturday at home. The hosts scored 30 of its points in the paint while LUPA registered 29-of-36 from the free throw line to go along with 30 points in the paint as well. The Bulldogs (6-13, 1-7 CIAA, 0-1 North) had three players score in double figures, led byÂ

Caleb Johnson chipped in as well with 10 points, four assists and five steals.Â
Those three are the top scorers for Bowie State through three games with Johnson leading the team in scoring with 11.4 points per game while Corley has been named the CIAA Rookie of Week four times this season, averaging 4.9 points highlighted by a 16-point performance (career-high) at Shaw and Mouganda who hasscored in double digits in five of the last six game appearances.
As a team, Bowie State is scoring 69.9 ppg and allowing 73.3. From the floor, the Bulldogs are hitting 42-percent (469-1109) while opponents are 46-percent. From beyond the arc, BSU is 33-percent with its opponents 36-percent. The free-throw line shows BSU at 68-percent (220-322) compared opponents 68-percent (300-440). The Bulldogs are getting outrebounded by a margin of 2.1, averaging just 35 rebounds per night.
About Virginia Union
The Panthers got back into the win column Saturday, when VUU defeated rival Virginia State for the Freedom Classic, 54-44 on the road. In that game, Tahj Harding finished with a game-high 28 points on 10-of-13 shooting while Jonathan Salazar tabbed 14 points including 14-of-18 from the free throw line.Â
Harding is the team's leading scorer, averaging 18.7 points per game on 46-percent shooting from the field, 38-percent from the 3-point line (31-82) and a 74-percent (85-115) shooter from the charity stripe. The Panthers are 12th in the CIAA for scoring (66.3) while limiting its opponents to a conference third-best (67.6). Surprisingly, VUU a program that has been know to hit the glass is also 12th in the CIAA for team rebounds, averaging just 33.4 rebounds per outing while holding its opponents to 32.4.
