Women's Basketball Set to Face Saint Augustine's Saturday in CIAA Doubleheader
Bowie, MD – The Bowie State women's basketball team resumes action Saturday, Jan. 6 when the Bulldogs travel to Raleigh, N.C. to face the Lady Falcons of Saint Augustine's in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) cross division matchup set for 2 p.m. E.T. inside Emery Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs fell to Fayetteville State 71-54 on Thursday night in Felton J. Capel Arena.
Jayla Irvin and
Robyn Howard combined for 33 points, Howard had her first double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds while Irvin led with 22 points.
Katerra Myers grabbed 11 rebounds and added nine points. In the contest, Bowie State shot 14-of-61 (23-percent) from the field compared to the Broncos who shot 36.5-percent (19-52).

The Lady Falcons are coming off a gritty home win over Virginia Union in overtime 58-53 Thursday. Taniyah Greene hit game-tying shot with 1:42 left in regulation to send the game to overtime and Lauren Banks put SAU ahead for good with 1:14 left to go the extra period to give the Lady Falcons the win. Greene finished with 12 points while Janiya Reed tacked on 11 points, eight rebounds and three steals. The victory was the fourth win for the Lady Falcons at home this season as SAU improved to 2-2 in the CIAA and 8-4 overall.

Bowie State will travel to Spartanburg, S.C. to take on Shaw for the Martin Luther King Jr. Unity Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 13.
