BOWIE, MD – Bowie State women's basketball will travel to Boca Raton, FL to compete in the Lynn Holiday Classic to conclude the calendar year against the Palm Beach Atlantic University on Saturday, Dec.21 at 1:00 p.m. followed by the Lynn University Sunday, Dec. 22 at 2 p.m. inside the de Hoernle Sports Center.

The Bulldogs (10-2, 4-0 CIAA) won its last outing against Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) foe Livingstone College, which highlighted coach
Shadae Swan's 150th career win on the road Thursday evening 71-61. The Bulldogs were led by
Destiny Ryles who recorded 30 points and four steals, while
Mia Smith helped with 12 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Additionally,
Beulah Odiong contributed with a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Bowie State tallied 24 total steals, with
Ayasha Thomas and Odiong each recording a season-high seven steals, doubling Livingstone's total of 12. In the contest, The Bulldogs capitalized on the opponent's turnovers, scoring 26 points. BSU forced 30 turnovers against Livingstone in their victory.
BSU is currently on a nine-game winning streak and aims to extend this weekend at the Lynn Holiday Classic, respectively.
Offense in Motion
The Bulldogs have been highly effective at finding the net across their first 10 games this season. Top scorer Ryles averages 21.0 points per game and shoots 40 percent from the field. Ryles leads the conference in points, assists, and steals. Sharpshooter Smith is ranked second on the team averaging 13.3 points per outing. Smith leads the team in three-point percentage shooting 30 percent from beyond the arc. Finisher Odiong averages 7.3 points per game and had a season-high 12 points in the win against the number-ranked defense Claflin. Scorer Thomas averages 5.9 points per outing and has three games over double digits coming off the bench.BSU averages 70.6 points per game and shoots 36.3 percent from the field. Bowie State ranks third in both offense and free throw percentage in the conference.
Scouting Palm Beach Atlantic University
Palm Beach Atlantic University is part of the Sunshine State Conference (SSC). The Sailfish are entering the Lynn Holiday Classic with a 5-5 record on the season and are 1-3 in the SSC. Palm Beach Atlantic lost its last outing against foe Lynn University at home 67-58 on Dec.7. Karyzma Pierre led the Sailfish with a season-high 14 points and three rebounds, while Kash Ayuso helped all around with 12 points, eight rebounds, and season-high seven assists. Additionally, Anabel Ellison recorded a double-double of 11 points and a season-high 10 rebounds in the loss.
PBA is averaging 64.9 points per game, 32.0 rebounds per outing, 12.1 assists per game, 8.4 steals per outing, and 3.3 blocks per game through 10 games this season. Ayuso leads the Sailfish averaging 20.9 points per game, while Ellison controls the following categories: 5.7 rebounds per outing, 3.5 assists per game, and 2.1 steals per outing. Gabrielle Wener averages 1.8 blocks per game. Palm Beach Atlantic ranks fourth in block shots and fifth in team free-throw percentage in the conference. Ayuso leads the league in points averaging 20.9 points per game.
Scouting Lynn University
The Lynn University is also a part of SSC, entering the Lynn Holiday Classic with a 5-4 overall record and a 1-3 mark in the conference. The Fighting Knights are coming off a defeat to foe the University of Tampa, 72-61 on Dec. 14. Jess Knight led the Fighting Knights with 18 points and four rebounds, while Trinity Mocadlo added a season-high 13 points and two rebounds. Additionally, Danielle Montelbano and Ella Flore both contributed nine points in the loss.
Lynn is averaging 65.3 points per outing,33.2 rebounds per game, 12.9 assists per outing, 4.9 steals per game, and 2.6 blocks per outing across nine games this season. Knight leads the team in the following: 15.7 points per game, 7.7 rebounds per outing, and 1.3 blocks per game. Montelbano is the team's passer averaging 4.1 assists per game, while Flore averages 1.3 steals per outing. The Fighting Knights rank third in the conference in field goal percentage shooting 45 percent from the field.
