BALTIMORE, MD --No. 4 Bowie State men's basketball team got a 24-point performance from the bench, but fell 77-53 to the No. 1 Fayetteville State Broncos (17-12) at CFG Bank Arena Wednesday, Feb 28 during the quarterfinals of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Men's Basketball Tournament.

The Bulldogs (12-17) had two players score in double figures, led by Joel Webb, who had 10 points and eight rebounds. Warren Mouganda tacked on 10 points and two steals and Caleb Johnson added nine points and three steals.

The BSU defense was effective at taking away the basketball in Wednesday's game, forcing 13 FSU turnovers. Those takeaways turned into 17 points on the offensive end of the floor. Johnson's three steals led the way individually for the Bulldogs.

How It Happened
The Bulldogs struggled out of the gate, falling behind 37-25 heading into halftime.

The Broncos kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 65-41 advantage before BSU went on a 5-0 run to shrink the deficit to 65-46 with 3:40 to go in the contest. FSU responded and outscored the Bulldogs the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 77-53. BSU took care of business in the paint, recording 14 of its 28 points in the lane.
