BOWIE, MD -- The Bowie State women's basketball team will return home to host a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Northern Division showdown against the Bluefield State Big Blue on Saturday, Feb. 1, inside the A.C. Jordan Arena in Bowie, Md. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.

Clear Bag Policy
Fans will only be able to carry the following style and size bag into the stadium, all of which are subject to search.
• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
• Small clutch bags measuring 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle or strap
• All other bags will not be permitted. A list of prohibited bags includes but is not limited to purses, backpacks, drawstring bags that are not clear, briefcases, coolers, fanny packs, luggage, computer bags, camera bags, binocular cases, and diaper bags. Guests are encouraged to return unauthorized items to their vehicles. Bowie State University cannot safeguard items that are not permitted into the stadium.

The Series
• The Big Blue have won three of the last four meetings against the Bulldogs entering Saturday's contest.
• In their last meeting, Bowie State defeated Bluefield State, 70-63, inside Ned Shott Gymnasium in Bluefield, W.V.
Last Whistle
The Bulldogs (14-6, 8-2 CIAA, 3-1 North) won their last outing against the Trojans of Virginia State, 69-61, inside VSU Multipurpose Center. BSU's offense was very productive from beyond the arc, making eight three-pointers on 19 attempts (42.1%).
Mia Smith led all scorers, tallying a career-high 31 points and six rebounds, while
Destiny Ryles added 15 points and grabbing four rebounds.
BSU's defense held Virginia State to only 18.8 percent shooting from beyond the arc.
Smith Spotlight
Smith delivered an electrifying performance against Virginia State, setting a career high with 31 points, including five three-pointers. She dominated the court, shooting 11-of-25 from the field and grabbing six rebounds in 38 minutes. Smith also contributed defensively with three steals and a block, proving to be a force on both ends of the floor. Her stellar effort was instrumental in Bowie State's hard-fought battle in that key CIAA matchup.
About Bluefield State
B-State enters Saturday's matchup (9-11, 2-7 CIAA, 2-2 North) coming off an electrifying overtime win defeating CIAA foe Lincoln (PA) University, 86-76 at home on Jan. 29 inside Ned Shott Gymnasium. The Big Blue had five players score in double-figures, with Jayla Sample leading the way with 21 points. Azahreya Drayton-Gill tallied a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 12 rebounds.
Through 19 games, Bluefield State is leading the CIAA in points per game (69.9) and steals per game (15.25). Jasmine Jenkins leads the team in scoring 14.0 ppg. The team's leading passer is Azariah Binford who averages 3.8 assists per outing. B-State is ranked 11
th out of 12 teams defensively in the CIAA, allowing 70.5 points per game.
This is head coach Paul Davis fourth season at the helm of the Big Blue program, as Bluefield State went 15-13 overall and 8-9 in the conference during the 2023-24 season. B-State was selected to finish 12th in the CIAA Preseason Poll.
Looking Ahead
Bowie State will get back on the road to take on CIAA opponent Elizabeth City State on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 2 p.m. inside the R.L. Vaughan Center in Elizabeth City, N.C. The Bulldogs have a record of 21-13 against Lady Vikings, winning their last meeting, 62-52 on Jan. 25 in A.C. Jordan Arena.
