BOWIE, MD — The Bowie State men's and women's basketball teams open Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) play on Saturday, Dec. 13, with a home doubleheader against Winston-Salem State inside A.C. Jordan Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. for the women's game and 4 p.m. for the men's game.

Clear Bag Policy
Fans may only bring the following into the arena (all items are subject to search):
- Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags not exceeding 12" x 6" x 12"
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (such as Ziploc)
- Small clutch bags measuring 4.5" x 6.5", with or without a strap
All other bags are prohibited, including purses, backpacks, non-clear drawstring bags, briefcases, coolers, fanny packs, luggage, computer bags, camera bags, binocular cases and diaper bags. Fans are encouraged to return unapproved items to their vehicles. Bowie State University cannot store items that are not permitted in the arena.
Game Promotion
Saturday's doubleheader will feature Rodeo Day inside A.C. Jordan Arena. Fans are encouraged to wear their best Western gear, including cowboy hats, boots, flannel, and denim. The event will include country hits, line dancing, a rodeo-style photo booth, and a Best Dressed Cowboy/Cowgirl contest at halftime.
BSU will also host a holiday community giveback, offering $10 tickets at the ticket booth with the donation of one canned or non-perishable food item per ticket. All donations will support local food assistance efforts.
Scouting Bowie State Women's Basketball
The Bulldog women (6-1) step into Saturday's tilt on a six-game winning streak, most recently rolling past Shippensburg in a 71–37 road victory. BSU leads the nation in blocked shots per game and rank third in the CIAA in scoring offense and second in scoring defense. They also sit first in the league in free throws made and second in combined team rebounds.
The frontcourt powers the defensive identity behind Jada Bouknight (top 20 nationally; 2.4 bpg), Kristin Sterling (1.1 bpg), and Chaniya Taylor (1.1 bpg). Offensively, guards Afia Owusu-Mensah (.741 FT%) and Taylor Timms (1.000 FT%) pace one of the CIAA's most efficient units at the line, while Malaka Cobb (3.1 apg) continues to ignite a balanced attack.

The Bulldog men's squad (2-8) enters CIAA play with several players among the league's statistical leaders and currently ranks second in the conference in free-throw percentage.
Jaiden McGhee leads the offense, ranking sixth in the CIAA at 17.3 points per game. Guy Fauntleroy adds perimeter scoring, ranking sixth in three-point percentage (.311).
In the frontcourt, Jamel Melvin (1.4 bpg) and Charles Thomas, III (1.2 bpg) both sit inside the CIAA's top 10 in blocks. KJ West anchors the perimeter defense and is fifth in the league in steals at 2.0 per game.

- WSSU enters with a 5–1 record, including road wins at Concord, Barton, and Lees-McRae.
- The Rams rank second in the CIAA in field-goal percentage (41.2%) and third in assists (13.8 per game).
- Winston-Salem State averages 71.5 points while allowing 60.8 (+10.7 margin).
- WSSU averages 38.2 rebounds per game, led by Maia Charles (7.3 rpg).
- Charles ranks sixth in the CIAA in scoring (14.3 ppg); Makayla Waleed ranks third in steals (3.2 spg).
- Ah'Kiyah Pye (11.8 ppg) and Nevaeh Farmer (11.0 ppg) add consistent scoring.
