BOWIE, MD — The Bowie State women's basketball team (7-2, 1-1 CIAA) will travel to Florida this weekend to compete in the Lynn Holiday Classic, hosted by Lynn University, on Saturday, Dec. 20, through Sunday, Dec. 21.
The Bulldogs open the event against Lynn on Saturday at 3 p.m. and will face Palm Beach Atlantic on Sunday at 1 p.m. All games will be played at the de Hoernle Sports Center in Boca Raton, Florida.

Statistical Leaders
- Bowie State ranks third in the CIAA in both scoring offense (71.1 points per game) and scoring defense (54.2 points per game).
- The Bulldogs lead the conference in free-throw percentage (77.0%) and rank third in combined rebounds (41.3).

Scouting Bowie State
Bowie State is coming off a 74-65 CIAA victory over Livingstone on Dec. 15, a win that gave head coach Shadae Swan the record for most career wins in program history.
The Bulldogs allow just 54.2 points per game while holding opponents to 31.6 percent shooting from the field. They average 11.6 steals and 6.9 blocks per game, ranking among the CIAA's top defensive teams. On offense, BSU averages 71.1 points per game, led by Cobb (11.2 ppg), Mia Smith (11.1), and Owusu-Mensah (10.7). Smith shoots 48.1 percent from the field, and Cobb converts 87.5 percent of free throws.
The Bulldogs average 41.3 rebounds per game, led by Taylor (5.9) and Kristin Sterling (4.6). BSU also excels at the line, making 18.6 free throws per game.
Scouting Lynn University
- Lynn is 7-4 overall, 2-3 in the Sunshine State Conference (SSC) play, most recently losing to Tampa 75-55.
- The Fighting Knights average 63.9 points per game and allow 67.1, with a –3.2 scoring margin.
- LU averages 37.2 rebounds per game.
- Trinity Mocadlo leads the team with 14.3 points per game and logs 34.5 minutes per game.
- Angelina Deleon adds 10.5 points per game, shooting 44.8% from three-point range.
- Tessa O'Leary contributes 9.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, shooting 60.0% from the field and 84.2% from the line.

- Palm Beach Atlantic is 3-7 overall, 1-3 in SSC play, most recently falling 76-65 to Nova Southeastern.

- PBA averages 32.8 rebounds per game, with a –5.9 rebounding margin.
- Breeje Schuler leads PBA with 10.2 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, shooting 84.2% from the line.
- Darria Whitley averages 8.3 points per game and ranks sixth in the SSC in three-point percentage.
- Anabel Ellison adds 9.5 points and 5.6 rebounds and ranks fifth in the SSC in assists.
