Women’s Basketball Drops 58–50 Decision to Palm Beach Atlantic

BOCA RATON, FL — The Bowie State women's basketball team (8-3) came up short in a neutral-site matchup, falling 58–50 to Palm Beach Atlantic University on Sunday afternoon inside the de Hoernle Sports & Cultural Center.

The Bulldogs generated multiple extra opportunities, finishing with a 14–3 advantage in second-chance points, but Palm Beach Atlantic (5-7) knocked down eight 3-pointers to offset Bowie State's edge on the glass.

BSU set the tone early, opening the game with a basket just seconds into the contest and jumping out to an early lead. The Bulldogs controlled the first quarter, thanks to strong interior play, and closed the opening period ahead 17–11.

Momentum shifted in the second quarter as the Sailfish heated up from beyond the arc. Bowie State was limited offensively in the frame, allowing PBA to outscore the Bulldogs 20–8 and take a 31–25 lead into halftime.

The Bulldogs looked to close the gap early in the third quarter, trimming the deficit to four points, but turnovers proved costly. Palm Beach Atlantic capitalized with timely perimeter shooting to extend its lead, sending Bowie State into the final quarter trailing 47–35.

Bowie State mounted a late push in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Sailfish 15–11. Sydney Anthony sparked the rally with defensive pressure and free throws in the closing moments, but the deficit was too large to overcome as the Bulldogs fell by eight.
