Bowie State Hoops Tangles with Lincoln (PA) on Senior Day

BOWIE, MD—The Bowie State men's basketball team will close out the 2024-2025 regular season with Senior Day against Lincoln (PA) University in a Central Intercollegiate Athletics Association (CIAA) matchup on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 4 p.m. inside A.C. Jordan Arena in Bowie, Md. This will be the nightcap game of a doubleheader featuring the women's game beginning at 2 p.m.

Clear Bag Policy 

Fans will only be able to carry the following style and size bag into the stadium, all of which are subject to search.   

• Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" 
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar) 
• Small clutch bags measuring 4.5" x 6.5" with or without a handle or strap 
• All other bags will not be permitted. A list of prohibited bags includes but is not limited to purses, backpacks, drawstring bags that are not clear, briefcases, coolers, fanny packs, luggage, computer bags, camera bags, binocular cases, and diaper bags. Guests are encouraged to return unauthorized items to their vehicles. Bowie State University cannot safeguard items that are not permitted into the stadium.

The Series 
• The Bulldogs have won three of the last five meetings against the Bulldogs, entering Saturday's matchup.  
• In the last meeting, Lincoln (PA) defeated Bowie State, 64-50, inside Bobby Morgan Arena in Philadelphia, Pa.  
• BSU has an 8-4 record in A.C. Jordan Arena against LUPA.
  
Scouting Bowie State  
Bowie State (15-12, 7-8 CIAA, 5-4 North) is a scrappy team whose resilient nature has willed them to win 11 games with a margin of five or fewer points. The Bulldogs are ranked second in the CIAA in blocks per game (4.70) while being ranked fourth in steals per game (8.96). BSU also shares the ball well, as they are ranked fourth in the conference in assists per game (14.19). Bowie State's leading scorer and rebounder is Amare Wimbush, who averages 12.7 ppg and 6.3 rebounds. Davis' 5.1 assists per game is ranked third in the CIAA. Davis also is ranked second in the conference in steals per game (2.0). 
   
Last Time Out for the Bulldogs  
The Bulldogs came up short in a 77-70 loss to Virginia State Tuesday night. Warren Mouganda led the team with a double-double, recording 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Wimbush also scored 13 points, and Davis contributed 12 points and four assists. Bowie State started strong, taking a 39-37 lead into halftime after capitalizing on six VSU turnovers for 10 points. They extended their advantage to 54-48 following a 5-0 run, highlighted by a three-pointer from Davis. However, Virginia State responded with a dominant finish, outscoring the Bulldogs 29-16 down the stretch to claim the win. Despite the loss, BSU controlled the paint, scoring 16 of its 31 points inside, and the bench made an impact with 21 points. Mouganda stood out with a game-high 10 rebounds.
   
Scouting Lincoln (PA)  
Lincoln (PA) (15-11, 10-5 CIAA, 4-5 North) is currently on a four-game losing streak as the CIAA Tournament approaches. Lincoln (PA) is one of the best defenses in the CIAA, holding teams to 66.7 ppg, ranking them second in the conference. The Lions hold opponents to shooting 41.1% from the field, which is the second-best mark in the conference. The LUPA are fourth in the conference in rebounds, hauling in 36.7 per game. Bakir Cleveland leads Lincoln (PA) in scoring, averaging 13.9 ppg, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists. Reggie Hudson is second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.1 ppg, 4.4 rebounds, and his two steals per game is tied for second in the CIAA. 

Last Time Out for the Lions 
The Lions dropped their previous matchup against Bluefield State, 73-62, inside Manuel Rivero Gymnasium in Lincoln University, Pa. LUPA was led by Cleveland, who scored 19 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Ethan Garita also shined, tallying a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Manny Toha scored 10 points, rounding out the Lions' double-digit performers.
