BOWIE, MD — The Bowie State women's basketball team (18-7, 11-5 CIAA, 9-1 North) dominated Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, 90-44, with a commanding performance at A.C. Jordan Arena. The Bulldogs capitalized on the Lady Lions' 24 turnovers, converting them into 23 points. This win solidifies the Bulldogs as the 2025-26 CIAA Northern Division Champions, marking the first divisional championship in head coach
Shadae Swan's era.
Bowie State started the game with strong defensive pressure, forcing Lincoln (PA) into eight turnovers in the first quarter.
Afia Owusu-Mensah contributed early with two free throws and a three-pointer, while
Mia Smith added to the lead with two three-pointers and a layup. LUPA struggled offensively, managing only one basket and four free throws.
Malaka Cobb capped off the quarter with a layup following a steal, pushing the home team's lead to 27-6 by the end of the quarter.
The Bulldogs maintained their lead over the Lady Lions in the second quarter, ending with a 45-19 advantage. The home team capitalized on several turnovers, with

Kristin Sterling and Smith led the charge for the home team with key contributions. Sterling opened scoring with a layup at 9:14, assisted by Cobb, and Smith added to the advantage with a layup and a three-pointer later in the quarter. LUPA struggled to keep pace, although T'Nyah Riggins provided a highlight with a three-pointer early in the quarter. The Bulldogs' defensive efforts, including a block by Cobb and multiple steals, helped maintain their lead, culminating in a final score of 90-44.
