BOWIE, MD — The Bowie State men's basketball team (5-19, 3-9 CIAA, 0-6 North) looks to even the score against Bluefield State (10-12, 8-3 CIAA, 4-1 North) in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association divisional matchup on Monday, Feb. 9, at A.C. Jordan Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.

- Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags not exceeding 12 x 6 x 12 inches
- One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (e.g., Ziploc)
- Small clutch bags measuring 4.5 x 6.5 inches, with or without a strap
All other bags are prohibited, including purses, backpacks, non-clear drawstring bags, briefcases, coolers, fanny packs, luggage, computer bags, camera bags, binocular cases, and diaper bags. Fans are encouraged to return unapproved items to their vehicles. Bowie State University cannot store items not permitted in the arena.
The Series
- Bluefield State leads the recent series 3–2 (2024–26), with Bowie State undefeated at home 2–0.
- BSU nearly erased a 21-point halftime deficit before falling 75–73 yesterday Feb. 7, 2026, scoring 50 second-half points in a late comeback push.
- The Bulldogs averages 84.2 PPG in the series, highlighted by a 106–103 win (Feb. 1, 2025) and a one-point thriller 79–78 (Feb. 17, 2024).
Scouting Bowie State
The Bulldogs are powered by one of the CIAA's most dynamic scoring backcourts in
Jaiden McGhee and
KJ West, both ranking among the conference's top 15 scorers. McGhee leads the way with 14.2 points per game (10th in the CIAA), while West contributes 12.9 points per game (14th).
Bowie State averages 68.0 points per game, with five players scoring at least eight points per contest, giving the Bulldogs balanced offensive production.
Guy Fauntleroy is a key perimeter threat, ranking among the CIAA's most effective three-point shooters at 2.0 made threes per game. He also impacts the game on defense, ranking in the top 10 in steals (1.6 spg) and leading the team with 41 three-pointers this season.
Defensively, Bowie State excels in creating turnovers and protecting the rim, averaging 8.0 steals and 3.7 blocks per game.
Scouting Bluefield State
Bluefield State enters Monday night contest with a 10-13, 8–3 CIAA, and 4-1 divisional record and ranks second in the conference in scoring defense, allowing just 66.2 points per game in league action.
The Big Blue is efficient from the line, shooting .716 from the free-throw line, the second-best mark in the CIAA.
Myles Pierre anchors the offense, ranking second in conference scoring at 18.9 points per game, connecting on 46.5% from the field and 44.0% from three. Anthony Latty provides a strong presence inside, ranking third in the CIAA in rebounding with 8.3 boards per game.
Pierre and Ellija Preddy form one of the league's most efficient backcourts, shooting 42.8% and 44.9% from the field in conference play, respectively. Preddy also ranks third in the CIAA in assists at 5.0 per game, helping orchestrate a balanced Bluefield attack.
