Aaron Kinchen

Aaron Kinchen begins his second season as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Bowie State University. Kinchen was an Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Riverdale Baptist High School (2008-2009) helping guide the team to a 26-3 record. The team won the National Christian Championship and participated in the first ESPN Rise Basketball Tournament and also participated in the NIKE Invitational Tournament in Phoenix, AZ.

Aaron had an earlier coaching stint at Riverdale Baptist High School during the 1998, 1999, and 2000 seasons. In each of those seasons he helped Riverdale to 3 consecutive National Christian Championships. He then left Riverdale Baptist High School and went on to coach collegiate Woman’s Basketball at Columbia Union College (Takoma Park, MD) for two seasons (2003 – 2005). 

Kinchen also has football coaching experience, currently serving as the Defensive Line Coach at Bowie State University.  He has also served as an assistant at Morgan State University (2000 - 2001), and returned to Bowie State University (2005 – 2009) as their Director of Football Operations and Defensive Line Coach. Prior to joining the collegiate ranks, Coach Kinchen served as Assistant Coach at Eleanor Roosevelt High School (Greenbelt, MD) and Suitland High School (Forestville, MD).

Coach Kinchen graduated from Howard University in 1994 with a degree in Consumer Affairs Management and was a member of Howard University football team. Kinchen's playing accolades include Black College All-American at Howard and was First Team All-Conference in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
