Douglas McNeil, III

Douglas McNeil III, a former NFL and CFL, Arena Bowl Champion wide receiver, joined Bowie State’s coaching staff in 2021. He oversees the development of the Bulldogs’ wide receivers and return specialists, blending professional playing experience with a passion for player growth. McNeil has coached multiple All-CIAA performers, national statistical leaders, and key contributors to one of the top passing attacks. A Bowie State graduate and former All-CIAA receiver himself, McNeil’s energy, attention to detail, and championship pedigree continue to elevate the program.

Before joining Bowie State, McNeil served as Wide Receiver and Kickoff Return Coach at Concordia Preparatory School in Towson, MD, where he led the development of receivers, returners, and special teams units.

A former professional wide receiver, McNeil enjoyed a seven-year career with stints in the NFL (Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos), CFL (BC Lions), and Arena Football (Portland Thunder, Albany Empire, Baltimore Brigade, Washington Valor). He earned multiple accolades throughout his career, including an Arena Bowl XXXI Championship and Offensive Player of the Game honors.

A Baltimore native, McNeil holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations from Bowie State University, where he was an All-CIAA wide receiver and two-time Player of the Week.
