(RICHMOND, VA) Bowie State's volleyball team had little trouble with Virginia Union, beating the home team in three straight sets 25-15, 25-20 and 25-20. The win improves BSU's Lady Bulldogs to 2-0 in the CIAA Eastern Division, 2-0 in the conference and 4-3 overall.
Seniors
Tamira Conner Rogers (Ft. Washington, MD, Oxon Hill) and
Alycia Williams-Chase (Baltimore, MD, Baltimore Polytechnic) paced Bowie State with 11 and nine kills respectively and fellow senior
Jasmine McNair (Germantown, MD, Seneca Valley) tallied eight kills on the night. Conner Rogers also led the team in service aces with four and came up with a game-high 19 digs.
Stephanie Bell led Virginia Union with a team-high eight kills and teammate Lashira Williams added another seven kills for the Lady Panthers. The loss deeps Virginia Union's record to 1-3 overall and 1-3 in the CIAA.
Bowie State is idle until hitting the court this weekend at the CIAA Volleyball Round-Up in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
