(BOWIE, Md.) In somewhat of a surprise, Virginia Union volleyball came into Bowie State's A.C. Jordan Arena and upended the Lady Bulldogs in three straight sets. The Virginia Union University Lady Panthers swept Bowie State University by scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-22.

Kassondra Greis (Mount Airy, MD, Linganore) added a half dozen kills for the Lady Bulldogs. Greis and freshman
Tiffany White (Towson, MD, Digital Harbor) led Bowie State with eight assists each.
Aisha Berkley led Virginia Union with a match-high 16 kills and picked up 10 digs and two solo blocks. Lashira Williams added seven kills to the stat sheet for Virginia Union and Cheri Wynn chipped five kills for the victorious Lady Panthers. Virginia Union moves their record to 5-12 overall, 4-7 in the CIAA and 2-3 in the North.
Bowie State's records dips to 3-15 overall, 1-10 in the CIAA and 1-4 in the Northern Division. BSU's Lady Bulldogs will have little time to regroup as they host Elizabeth City State University in an 11 a.m. conference match tomorrow (Saturday) morning.
