(RICHMOND, VA) It continues to be a rough season for Bowie State volleyball as the Lady Bulldogs are beaten in three straight sets (25-16, 25-14 and 25-17) to the Virginia Union Lady Panthers. Freshman
Briana Flowers (Millersville, MD, Old Mill) paced Bowie State with a team-high four kills and fellow freshmen
Tiffany White (Towson, MD, Digital Harbor),
Kyerra Martin (Capital Heights, MD, Forestville Military Academy) and
Cindy Holland (Baltimore, MD, Edmondson) added a pair of kills each.
As a team, Bowie State closed out the night with a negative attack percentage (-.070). Virginia Union was only slightly better, wrapping up the match with a .182 attack percentage. VUU's Lady Panthers served the ball extremely well, recording 20 compared to eight for Bowie State.
Aisha Berkley led Virginia Union with a match-high 10 kills on 26 attacks. Lashira Williams along with Cheri Wynn contributed five kills each in the Lady Panthers sweep.
Bowie State travels to Chowan University for a 10 a.m. Nothern Division matchup on Saturday (10/9).
