(PETERSBURG, Va.) The BSU Lady Bulldogs played tough in a key CIAA Northern Division match at Virginia State, but were shutout 3-0 by the Lady Trojans. The loss, Bowie State's 10th in a row, dropped the Lady Bulldogs overall record to 2-14, 1-9 in the CIAA and 1-5 in the North.

Cindy Holland (Baltimore, MD, Edmondson) and
Kassondra Greis (Mount Airy, MD, Linganore) along with sophomore
Jasmine Nixon (Middletown, NY, Middletown) and senior
JaTyra Heath (Federalsburg, MD, Colonel Richardson, Chowan Univ.) paced Bowie State with three kills each. Greiss led the team in assists with nine to go along with two service aces and two blocks. Heath accounted for a team-high 13 digs and Nixon along with freshman
Briana Flowers (Millersville, MD, Old Mill) added 11 and 10 digs respectively.
Virginia State (7-10, 7-5 CIAA, 4-2 North) was led by Jasmine Davis with 11 kills, six service aces and nine digs. Virginia State's defense held Bowie State to negative attack percentage of -.086 but recorded a postive attack percentage of .026 over their own.
Bowie State will travel to Cheyney (Pa.) University - Thursday, September 30th for a non-conference match beginning at 6 pm.
