(MILLERSVILLE, Pa.) It's been a tough start to the season for the Bowie State volleyball team, as the Lady Bulldogs were defeated in three straight sets (15-25, 10-25 and 15-25) to host Millersville University.

JaTyra Heath (Federalsburg, MD, Colonel Richardson, Chowan Univ.) and freshman
Tiffany White (Towson, MD, Digital Harbor) were BSU's attack bright spots, putting down four and three kills respectively. Heath also added six digs to her stat line. Sophomore
Jasmine Nixon (Middletown, NY, Middletown) was all over the floor, picking up a match-high eight digs and led the team in service aces with two.
Kelsey Gearhart and Mary Paul led Millersville with six and five kills respectively. Millersville was a plus six in total attacks (73 to 67) and ended the day with a .274 attack percentage.
Bowie State will close out the Dutch Country Spiketacular later this afternoon, facing Felician College at 3 pm.
