BOWIE STATE SHUTS OUT WASHINGTON ADVENTIST 3-0

(BOWIE, Md.)  It took Bowie State University just under an hour to dispose of Washington Adventist University, shutting out the Shock 3-0 in non-conference volleyball action.  The Lady Bulldogs won by scores of 25-11, 25-19 and 25-9 and improves Bowie State's overall record to 8-18.

Freshmen Jenahye' Johnson and Cara Nance recorded six kills each and junior Jasmine Nixon added three kills to lead Bowie State.   Nance also picked up a match-high 10 digs in the sweep.  Freshman Paige McIntosh accounted for 13 of the 15 total assists for the Lady Bulldogs.  Sophomore Briana Flowers paced Bowie State with five service aces and Nixon added three service aces.

Blair Thompson (Laurel, Md.) led Washington Adventist with four kills in the loss and Daniella Anderson (Beltsville, Md.) along with Alex Anderson (Beltsville, Md.) added three and two kills respectively.  Kristina Murphy (Beltsville, Md.) had a team-high four service aces to go along with three digs.

As a team, Washington Adventist (3-5) ended the evening in the negative in terms of attack percentage, closing out the match with a minus .136 attack percentage.

Bowie State returns to conference play Friday (October 22nd), hosting division leading Chowan University at 6 pm.
